Course Description:

Over three days, focus on improving your ski movement skills, as well as your ability to coach clients and make terrain decisions based on movement patterns. While the clinic will take place inbounds, the focus will be on skiing applications for guides in off-piste terrain and will consider factors such as equipment choice, backpacks, and snow variability. This clinic is appropriate for those trying to enter the Ski Guide Course, or for those working to pass their exams. Led by PSIA Examiners and PSIA-AASI National Team Members who are also AMGA members invested in the ski discipline.

You must be at least an upper intermediate skier (Level 7) who is comfortable in off-piste terrain and a member of PSIA-AASI Rocky Mountain or another Region.

- Learn about the 5 ski fundamentals outlined in PSIA and how

they relate to AMGA movement evaluation.

- Connect the PSIA ski fundamentals to SGC tasks, focusing on

body and ski performance

- Learn to adjust ski fundamentals in backcountry and variable

snow conditions

- Learn how ski fundamentals and performance change when

using a guide pack

- Get new tactics for skiing +/- 40* terrain

All PSIA-AASI members must follow the PSIA-AASI code of conduct.

All members participating in an Intermountain clinic or assessment must wear a helmet when sliding on snow using lift-accessed terrain.
