Course Description:
Course Description: This two-day course provides instructors with effective strategies and practical applications for teaching adults undergoing the natural aging process, from beginner through intermediate levels. Based on the CAP model, you understand how the aging process impacts movement, investigate low impact skiing create learning for this demographic.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand and apply the Senior Adult Profile and CAP Model for the Natural Aging Process.
- Demonstrate low impact skiing.
- Demonstrate effective teaching strategies for senior students in beginner to intermediate zones.
- Perform MA on Senior Adults in the beginner to intermediate zone
- Understand and apply senior-specific equipment considerations and their impact on safety and performance.
All PSIA-AASI members must follow the PSIA-AASI code of conduct.
All members participating in an Intermountain clinic or assessment must wear a helmet when sliding on snow using lift-accessed terrain.
